Now that I looked at it again, you're absolutely correct. Ugh! The notorious F150 plug spit I've read about a few years back. At the risk of being laughed at for asking a question most of you already know the answer to, what is the most likely solution to this issue? New motor?

I think I love you. :-) I was really thinking it would be a major, major issue. I remember reading about plug-spitting, but I couldn't remember the resolution for it. $70 is much easier to accept. Thanks!

haha ill ignore the i love u part but yeah its not as bad as it seems just take your time an its golden... make sure u go in stright with the tap.. thats the main thing.but yea i`ve seen the kit for 20 bux and a coil pack is like 50 bucks... just look down in the hole make sure parts of the plug still aint in there... who know u make get lucky and the porcelain blew out and u just gotta back the threads out... oooo and neat trick.... if u have to tap the hole out put some grease on the tap... it holds the metal chips from falling into the cylinder hole where u`ll destroy the walls...

Great tip about the grease - thanks! I was thinking of stuffing some paper towel in the cylinder, then vacuuming out any fragments from cutting before puling the towel out. I like the grease idea better. Looks tough to get in there (from what I gather elsewhere, it's cylinder #7) - not much headroom, so it seems I may have to take some stuff apart to make working room.

Sincerely, thanks again for your help!

Oh, forgot to mention - I found the plug! It was hung up on top of the block. It shows no damage (not that I plan to use it again). So it looks like I'll be cutting some threads.
