p0122 throttle position sensor code
Just got my 1997 f1540 4.6 4x4 back after my guy did alot of work....intake gaskets, plugs, all hoses, master cyl,all rear brakes and em. cable....etc.Now driving it home it sputters/surges in overdrive(where its most noticeable..) and threw a p0122 code when I restarted after a gas stop(with pressure in the tank when taking off cap...???) The sputtering/chugging would seem to be related to code for a throttle position sensor...should I just replace it or should I look somewhere else?....thanks
Ok, Tried to remove the 2 tps screws with no luck... read up on ways to get them off..cut slot in screw/heat up locktite/grind head off...but I cant find a spec on replacement screws...some say 7mm...8mm...one says m5x30mm.Does anyone know what spec the screws are?I dont want to start til I have them....thanks

Sizes, -
5mm, - the heads are 7mm, - in bolt head form, the thread/shaft is 5mm. Personally, I use COP bolts to secure the TPS, -
By the way, here's a better bolt to replace those with, -

If you do, (and that's the exact size you need) just don't over tighten them. They only require light torque and that bolt I posted will go in snug, - meaning you may not be able to run it in all the way with your fingers. That said, - light torque is all you need and she'll stay.

tps installed(after drilling out top screw..) A trick I used on the bottom tps screw was to take a soldering gun to heat up the locktite and the screw came right out.The tps took care of the sputtering/shifting and cel code.
