Default Open tow hooks

Has anybody swapped their tow hooks for open hooks? If so how hard was it? These closed hooks are such a PITA

I wouldn't switch them if you plan on actually towing something with them. Buy a tow strap with the looped ends and some d rings to tow with. It's a lot safer and stronger.

Yeah just get some D-Rings. I grabbed one that's good for like 50k lbs work load for $20 and then a 20k for like $10.

I'd much rather have open tow hooks so much more useful

Mount D-Ring shackles on the front. I'm fabbing up brackets for mine now.

I do like Dodge's Tow Hooks. They are kind of a hybrid. Have a notch down the center of the closed loop so you don't need a D-Ring to attach a closed loop recovery strap. That's about all I can say I like about the Dodge's though lol

All you have to do with closed hooks is thread the tow strap through them or and then use a d ring on the vehicle your pulling. Its a lot safer. Open hooks can bend or have things slip off them. If you are towing someone and get slack in the strap, you don't have to worry about it falling off a closed hook. IMO.

Well for one it would be pretty hard for them to slip off the hook since its open sideways, and the main reason I need open hooks is to work with my bridle strap
