Default Muffler: Offset/Offset or Center/offset?

I cut the Magnaflow center/offset 24" muffler off the '99 tonight thinking I'd throw it on the' 03, but laying it under the stocker with the front pipes lined up, the rear (center) outlet looks like it should be offset outboard about 2.5". Now, the pipe at the front of the stock muffler has a jog in it, and the pipe on the '99 went straight forward. It's possible when I had it installed the guy cut out enough to eliminate that jog. (I can't really tell because I've had to add pipe since due to rust-out.) I could probably do the same, but cutting the jog out of the' 03's pipe will also eliminate the hanger just in front of the muffler. (Its nearly parallel to the ground, so a new one would likely need to be welded.)

So, did the '99 have a jog that was cut out, or do I need (or can I use) an offset/offset muffler instead? Does anyone know the center-to-center measurements for each? (I didn't see this dimension on Magnaflow's site.)

By the way, I'm looking at the 18" 4" x 9" satin 11256 and 11266, (I don't see that the 5" x 8" is available in that finish, and I don't need - or want to pay for - polished.)

Thanks,

Andy

I crawled back under the '99 this evening, and found there is no exhaust hanger (or bracket) just forward of the muffler like on the' 03, so I still don't know if there was originally a jog on the '99 or not. I'll probably have to call Magnaflow on Monday to get the inlet/outlet center-to-center dimensions.

If you stayed stock offset you might be able to make the 34.5's work on just a level but anything less than stock you're most likely going to be rubbing pretty bad

I've got Bilstein 5100's with the front setting the middle position, and from what I understand that's a 2" level. No rubbing and drives like a dream. Tires are Goodyear Wrangler Dura-Trac's, I like em, I like the whole setup, and only cost me a single MPG, give or take.

This was a two year old post about exhaust. How did it turn in to wheel offset?!

Another "related posts" victim, I'll bet, since I mentioned "offset" about a dozen times.

WORST "FEATURE" EVER!!!!!
