oh f-that...I went to harbor freight and picked up a 6' extension cord for ~$3

honestly, extension cord wire is pretty good for this...the jacket is heavy duty, the wire is stranded well enough that you can twist it easy, and the wires are thick enough that they can handle all the current

and to be upfront - the relay I bought was $6.49

and I got a 150 piece terminal/connector set from harbor freight for $5.49

so total cost is really ~$39

keep it up...interested to see how subsequent coats darken the lens

I haven't layed any gloss yet. I think just because they are glass they look much shinier than I expected.

Color sanding seems unnecessary for these, but I'll go over the clear coat.

I wouldn't have needed any gloss clear either but I had to sand after I tinted them because it was spotty

Did some mockups:
Smoked lens behind grill

Housings only

Untinted Lens:

Tinted Lens:

Lows:

Brights:

Light output really doesn't seem to be effected by the tint

I'm not really seeing an easy way to reinforce the plastic grill support that these are hanging off of.

Just thinking flat steel about ~3" wide with some adhesive and running the bolts through that and the plastic. That doesn't follow my typical if its worth doing, its worth overkilling mentality though, so I don't think Ill be happy with just that. I don't want these things bouncing all over the place either.

I mounted mine in the bottom bar and never had bounce issues.
