O2 sensor loose

Default O2 sensor loose

My o2 sensor keeps coming loose on my 97 4.6 v8 any ideas why and to stop it form happening again?

A little bit of blue loctite will fix that issue.

That's what I thought but then if it goes bad and I have to take it out then cuz of the heat it will be a pain in the *** to get out I was told I could peen the threads

Yup, just a tap with a punch on the "nut" part of the O2 peened against the welded bung on the exhaust will lock it in

I forgot to ask will I still be able to take it out and put a new one in if I needed to?

Yes, a lot easier than you would with cooked in lock tight... They put never seize on the replacements for a reason...

This method is used on pinion nuts, it will work on an O2 sensor

Sounds good if it loosens up again ill do that so it will be easy to put a new one in if i had to with the threads being peened?
