I didn't even take the cup holder out to do it. The harness is just 2 wires wrapped together with the bulb holder on the end. I cut mine off and hooked the leads to the LED

I don't think I have one cuz I just took the cup holder out an no harness or anything :/, but to anyone wanting to change their ac controls here's the bulb (mine is burnt out) and how you change then in the back. the one on the right is out an in my hand an the one on the left is still in (the little black thing) anybody know what size bulb this is? pretty easy to take out just need a little force when taking out the bulb from the socket. when you turn the black thing out the ac control turn it a 1/4 turn to the passenger side to loosen

That's a 194 in your hand. Since the contact is on the back of the assembly, you'll have to guess the polarity when you LED it. 50-50 shot at it. If it doesn't work, simply reverse it. This is not like the '98, which uses a T-5 for the cupholder/ashtray.

T10, 194, an 168 are all the same bulb correct? because in my manual it says license plate bulb is 168 an I've had plenty of people on here tell me it's 194. they said T10 could be used for license plate as well because someone had extra after changing their instrument cluster lights.

They're pretty interchangeable - same mount - but be careful of the depth. Some LED assemblies are way too long for the application - the license plate lights, the same size as the bulb in your hand, will not fit a longer LED assembly. I had extra ones from my dashboard job, and they would NOT fit in the license plate assembly, because they were too long.

I'd go with the convex round, as in your 2nd link. Same physical form factor as the old bulb. The convex topper acts like a magnifying glass.

cool man thanks, which LEDs did you use for your cluster? I'm thinking about ordering the ones in the first link so there won't be a hotspot like there might be in the 2nd one
