Default new to ford

please help. found a 97 f150xl 4.6l 5speed manual with 120xxx miles. i never owned ford but with a little reserch found they were better than others when bought used. Is there any commom issues that neone knows of that i should know about?

Keep an eye out for rust along the bottoms of the doors and tailgate. Other than that these trucks are pretty solid.

I would hate worrying about rust I have a 99 and no body rust in Arkansas

Every truck reguardless of the manufacturer has thier problems it's rally a matter of taste. Some people like coke some like pepsi. I loved fords since I was a little kid in the early 70's and my dad had a baby blue 69 Ford F-100 Ranger with a V-8 and a three on the tree. We als had a green 1971 LTD with a 400 ci. You could'nt even find a parking spot for that tank anymore. Loved fords ever since.
