Default new engine

How come when you go to sale your truck with a new engine it doesn't matter. I have an 02 f150 and it has 449000 miles on it and it has a new engine with only 15000 miles ob it and this guy said my truck was only worth 2500, the engine is worth more than that.

Replacing a major component usually doesn't increase the resale value enough to cover the cost unless you do the labor. The transmission, axles, and everything else has high miles and the value of the vehicle will reflect that.

i did that...i had about $5k invested under the hood i was only gonna get $1500 out of the truck...so i pulled everything...sold it all off...and then got like $800 out of the truck.

thats the route to go esp. when your truck has 400k miles on it.
