Just my 2 cents but I've done hundreds of oil changes and never seen threads buggered in the pan. Threads on the plug are usually softer than the pan so it gets wrecked and you just replace the plug. If it is the pans threads and you can get it tapped, why not. Its the gasket the does the sealing, not the threads

Hmmm you are right. The screw is just a machine galvanize screw. Ill ask my mechanic before he does the repair

I should of updated a while back when I got it repaired just been busy with my new daughter. But the whole oil pan was replaced and walmart did end up paying for it. To be honest, it was actually very easy. No hassle what so ever. They presented the problem to me. They confirmed they were the last ones to have worked on it. I filled out a incident report. The next day I got contacted by the claims department and asked to be sent a bid price from my mechanic and within 3 days I had the check in the mail. I was actually very impressed

Glad it worked out for you! Also glad you got to take it to a regular mechanic. I'd hesitate to trust an oil pan replacement to a bunch of guys who can't get a drain plug on straight...
