Default Need help with LED tailgate bar!

I was trying to wire up my plasma glow LED light bar and I wired the first one up and the left side wouldn't work. I sent it back thinking it was the light bar. I got a new one and tried everything I could and the left side still doesn't work. Can anyone give me a reasons for this. It plugs into the trailer plug.

Could it be the trailer plug wiring or what??

I had the same problem when I had an Anzo tailgate bar before I bought a Recon. When I had my Anzo I had to wiggle the trailer plug a little to get it to work. I've never had any problems with my Recon though. I'd say if you continue to have problems it could be the plug, trailer wiring, or the bar itself. Try using a multimeter if you have one too, that might help.

I went through a similar problem. My brake and turn signal lights would work, but not the running lights, unless I didn't plug in the other lights. Tried with my trailer harness and hard wires. I bought and returned 2 recon's with no success and no customer service, finally I bought an LEDglow and had the same issue. I sent them an email with pictures, and within a few days they had sent me a small adapter to plug in between my plugs, and it's worked since. I don't know what makes it work, but it does, so I'm happy.

I am having the same problem with my anzo from radio shack. I plugged it in and everything worked except only one side worked for the brake lights. I crawled under my truck to look at the wiring and I noticed that there was a wire that was jumped from one side of the harness to another set of wires. There are two wires that were stripped back about half inch and the wire that was jumped across was wrapped around the yellow wire and the green wire sat exposed. Any ideas on what this wire is or how to fix it. I will try to get a picture up soon.

There's a plug somewhere the rear wheel at the frame, that connects to the trailer plug assembly (I never used mine for that purpose, so I've never personally had to trace it). A number of users on this forum reported that the first time they connected their trailer lights, they didn't work either! Trace back from the bumper-mounted plug, and you'll run into the problem connector, where all it needs is a good cleaning with electrical contact cleaner, and problem solved.
