Default need HELP fast

1999 F150 4x4 4.6l

On the way to work this morning, got up to 40mph and after that the engine would just rev up and not make the truck accelerate. Put it into second and it went right into gear.

after work, same thing, but turned off the overdrive and it worked fine.

checked fluid when it was running normal temp, truck still on, shifted through gears, park, and checked and the fluid is in the crosshatch.

please tell me this is an easy fix.

changed the engine oil on friday (well a company did). did they unplug something? anything i should look for?

How many miles are on it? How does the fluid look/smell? It should be red and not smell burnt (duh). If its a lot of miles its possible the overdrive gear went out of the tranny. Could be something simple probably but I have no clue what if it is. Sounds like an internal tranny problem to me.
