Default Need help

Hi I'm new to the group. But I recently bought a 97 f150 xl. A lil rough but got a decent deal. Did a tune up and got it running decent but having some electrical issues. My radio and park lights stay on when key is out of ignition doesn't matter if door open or not. Also my interior lights dont work, as well as my gauge lights and taillights. Oh and my wipers only work if I'm in park or neutral lmao... shortly after buying it I noticed the windshield leaks right on steering wheel. And prob runs down to the inside fuse box some..

Pull the kick panels and inspect for body rot at the ground terminals.

Probably a wet GEM, and agree... you should also be checking grounds in the kick panel. I would be fixing that windshield ASAP and let the GEM module dry out completely. Submerging the GEM in a bucket of rice will aid in drying it out quicker.

They were filthy and def had moisture. What's the chances the gem is shot? And if I get one from junkyard will it be plug n play or will I have to get it programmed? And also would it hurt to spray the connectors and grounds with wd‐40 since its water displacement?

I've seen a lot of flood trucks and I'd bet you bought one.

As others have said you need to clean the grounds, WD-40 may displace water but it not help with corrosion

Sorry to say but all that sediment you have is exactly what they look like when the water is gone.
