Just wondering why you would install a new starter when you say it cranked...what about an Ignition relay ?

Check all of your fuses under the hood and below the dash.

Not all at once. So the timeline to be clear is,

Truck stopped and wouldn't crank

You installed starter and now it cranks but wont fire?

Okay, that tells me its a cut off. Check these things

In the passenger plastic kick panel, there is a black box with a red button on top. This is the inertia switch, make sure it is depressed all the way.

If that's good. Start checking every one of your fuses. I would start with the maxi fuses under the hood and work my way inside.

Let us know if this works.

Okay,

How did you test for current at the coils?
