Default Need advice

Hi everyone need some advice. I am an avid ford fan and have a pretty good collection going. I never used to like the 97-03 f 150s but they have grown on me. I just basically wanted some advice on what year to go after I am familiar with the 5.4 liter, however am unfamiliar with the 4.8 4.6 and 4.2. I'm leaning to either get a 1997 first year of the generation or an 03. Anyone have any info on problems concerns likes dislikes etc. Much appreciated look foreword to your replys sorry for getting so long winded.

99+ 4x4 5.4, ext cab, 9.75 rear, 3.55 ratio in my opinion...

97-98 snapping torsion bars, smaller pinion bearings, smaller lug studs although the lug studs seemed to carry over on a couple trucks here and there... probably forgetting some things here

Thanks I'd probably try and get reg cab long box I haul alot, with what I do for work I have a 03 f 250 with extended cab and I hardly ever use the extra cab space. Plus in these cold winters it heats up better

Haha, yup that's true about the heat... I'd take the other stuff into consideration, or maybe a 7700 series with the bigger brakes and 3.73s if you haul stuff

Or I think the 7700s also came with 4.10s too!

They were f250 light dutys in 97-98 and 7700 after that...

They also had a Sterling 10.25" rear

Go with either an 02 or 03 xlt with the fx4 package and a 5.4. I have an 03 with that stuff and i love it.
