What year did they switch the dash layout from just speedometer to the revs per minute and speed? Do you know?

I never heard of that, I just figured the higher quality packages xlt and whatnot had the full cluster while the xl would have the basics I'm not sure on that one... Anyone else heat of this?

Yup, they did change that too... That's why an edge programmer can't correct the older trucks odometer for larger tires

My 98 XLT SCab has the manual odometer, Tachometer in the cluster, and a manual sliding rear window...

Like the rear sliders is it a 3 piece window or a 4 piece?

the rear sliders are 3 piece. 97-98 had different rer window surrounds. Expeditions got the same brakes as the 7700. So parts are readily available in 5 lug to upgrade. 03 had 8 thread heads for spark plugs. Also 99+ 5.4 is going to be a PI engine 2001+ for the 4.6. 7700 had a 4R100 instead of a E4OD or the 4R70W. 99+ had better made torsion bars. Also like mentioned above 00+ had larger pinion bearing and axle bearings in the 9.75.
