Default MPG

Whats your average MPG on a 4.6L 4x4? Mines a 97 extended cab 4x4.

Looks like 13 city and 15 highway was what the window sticker said.

Anything around that is normal. It's been on the road nearly 20 years and a bunch of miles so I'd expect it to be a few mpg lower on avg.

With my 16's, I was getting 14.3 in town and 16.4 on the highways. With the 17's I haven't done a tank of gas this winter, so I don't know what it will give. I'm fairly sure it will be close, but it might be slightly less now.

I get about 13.5 in the city with my 5.4 with 3:73 gears and 4X4 with about 5 minutes of idle 2 times a day in winter on stock size p265/70/R17 A/T's. And towing is about the same on the highway. 55-75 non stop for 150 miles with about 700 pounds on a trailer and 100 pounds or so in the bed. This summer I'll be able to tell what MPG it gets with the A/T's on summer blend.

4.6 2x4 consistently gets 17 mpg combined. In good tune and babied its whole life.

Up here in Canada, all winter I could usually average 7 - 8 mpg pretty consistently. Whether I idled my vehicle for 20 minutes every morning, or went plowing for an hour or so in 4x4. Still the same.
