Update: I should have it back at the end of this week. One rod ended up having a slight bend. I'll get a list of everything done to it when I pick it up. I'll be taking my time putting it back together. Yay!

In the mean time I picked up an 07 Tahoe LTZ with a bad lifter. Never ending projects!

Well, that one's by choice, apparently.

I got too many projects that are not by choice to take on any more that are.

It certainly isn't the prettiest block on the planet but it sure does look better.

Crank and balancer bearing got put in after this pic.

Ended up needing a getting a new crank with stock lobes

Pistons got bored . 02 over.

I'm taking it home today and getting to work on the reassembly.

Lmao thanks I'm a moron and put it on the wrong spot and ended up bending it just enough in the process that it's misshapen. $80 learning mistake. Still cheaper than going to school for engine work but damn I feel like an idiot.

Gotta get a whole new set now to replace the one I gouged up.

This is my first rodeo with a bottom end rebuild so I just went gung-ho.

There's a number but apparently it's not worth much. The part number for the thrust bearing is 6337. That's all there is. Apparently it's what they call the "base number". Here's an example. Same number, different engine. 8 cylinder.

Any brands yall would recommend for bearings? These had a copper finish.

Here's what it looks like on the right cap. It' bent out. If I was a teenager still I would flattened it out and drove it till it broke.

Little update. Got the internals almost all together. Went with sealed power bearings to replace the ones I busted. I think all that's left is the oil return and the oil pan. Does anyone know what size the cam shaft woodruff key is? The new one didn't come with one and I can't get the old one out.

The heads are ready to go with new valve seals. I should have it together by the end of next week.
