Ok we'll a screw driver will work. Pull the plug wire off cyl number 4 spark plug. Poke a screwdriver up in the wire and lay it in the plastic piece above ur radiator. Lay another screw driver about 1/16 of an inch from the screw driver u have the wire pluged to. Go crank the truck. Id there a ark jumping from the screwdriver u have in the wire to the screwdriver u have laying close to it? Sound dumb I know but i need to know if that spark plug wire is arking.

So I checked all my wiring this morning and everything looked alright until I got to the fuel injector on #4....the red wire had slipped out. So thinking I fixed it I headed down the road to Texas. Come to find out the truck is still missing on that stupid cylinder. When I got to my destination I crawled in there again...yes Im short lol....and although the wire was still in there but I noticed that both slide back and forth fairly easily. Gonna go to checker in the morning and see about getting another and hopefully that solves this issue...Im hoping lol.

I did do the screwdriver trick in the plug wire tough for good measure and it has a really good arc so rules that out to. Will report back tomorrow on if a new fuel injector connector solves the evil miss....

Thanks everyone for your help thus far....much appreciated.

If u cut and splice the injector plug on I would suggest useing soldier to make sure u got a good connection. I know it will be a pain in the but trying to get to it.

And to add this. The screw driver trick now eliminates a firing problem. If it had a good strong ark. Then ur getting ignition. Ur just not getting fuel I assume now because the injector plug.

Well that didn't work but I don't have a soldering gun handy just electrical tape, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a standard screwdriver

Gonna go to the ford dealership and see if they will be kind enough to do it...

Maybe ull get it fixed! I sure hope so! I used to have serval wire harness laying around lol but I finally gave them away. It's pretty easy to change a harness on these trucks. If I still had one I would try to get one to ya! But sadly I don't have one anymore

So just got back from Ford. They did a relative compression test and all was good, power balance test showed a miss on 4 so the changed the spark plug wire, connected the fuel injector connector better and tested it and it showed it was getting power. They said the last thing to do is change the fuel injector so since I had some on hand did that.

Still have a slight miss although getting better.

The old engine showed no compression in 4 so was told I had a burnt valve. I didn't really believe it then and even more so now since with a new Infineon I'm still having the issue.

Here is one for y'all...I am told I have 1998 GT Mustang injectors on this thing. I have 1 brand new 1997 F150 injector that I bought way back when. They look completely different including the holes at the bottom. What would it hurt if I put the brand new one in and leave the 7 others? I have 4 mustang injectors on hand also but they are used. That's what I replaced the one with a few minutes ago...just curious as thinking they might not be good after all you know. The silver one in the picture is the brand new one....which I just noticed has no o rings on it....
