Lights
I have two thoughts I want to tint my tails but I have led bulbs in there already so I really don't need to buy blacked out ones and I also just bought lightning headlights I want to black my truck out nice what do you recommend I use I've heard good things about VHT nightshade but I want to see what you guys think
Second thought is I put some hid lights in there I had 6000k in there but I wasn't impressed and took them back. My buddy has 4300k in his pilot and they are a bright white which looks nice. I want a little better far vision do any of you have hid lights in your truck and if you do what color should I get
Oh and by the way any pictures or directions you have basically any input would be greatly appreciated along with any pictures thanks again

Tint your tails with the VHT, just clean off with soap and water, wet sand, clean with paint thinner, clean with soap and water, and spray light coats. I wouldnt have got the lightning headlights if you plan on blacking it out. You can buy black headlights on ebay and such that would look good.
If you want bright, useful light, go with 4300 or lower color. The bluish lights actually produce less light and the color washes out contrast so you can't see bumps or other road obstacles as well. There is a good reason that aircraft instruments use red light, and shooters use yellow glasses - the lower color temperatures actually improve contrast and sharpen your view. The claims by some aftermarket light manufacturers that "higher color temperature is brighter" are pure snake-oil marketing bull****, just like the old claims that heroin cures what ails you.
Are you talking about real HID lamps or just the tinted xenon "poser" bulbs? The xenon halogen bulbs are tinted to achieve their color, and the tint absorbs light that otherwise would go out on to the road. Real HID lamps have specially shaped reflectors that work with the bulb, which has a different light emission pattern from halogen bulbs, to project the correct light pattern. The HID "kits" containing adapted-base HID bulbs and ballasts to go into your stock headlights produce a ton of light, but usually it is poorly focused. It doesn't project very far and blinds oncoming drivers. Several other members have posted complaints about "spiderweb" light patterns from HID kits in their OEM headlights. All I can say is "Duuh, they aren't designed to work in halogen lamps."
What is the point of "blacking out" the headlights? You actually want to see less well at night? You know that stuff absorbs light, right? And why would anyone want to tint the tail lights and turn signals, thereby reducing visibility to other drivers? Do you know how crappy they look from behind at night? I thought you couldn't buy that stuff unless you also had a fart can muffler to go with it.
It seems that light threads are the new oil threads.

Actually tinting your taillights doesn't reduce visibility much. If you use VHT, its designed to not to block the light coming through, hence the reason why it is translucent. Its like having your windows tinted. When the sun hits a tinted window, light still comes through. Plus when he has LEDs in his tails, I'm pretty sure he'll be fine.
If you have LED's you should be fine, just follow 01BlueCrew's directions, that's what I did to mine and they turned out great, but just be careful cops love pulling over people with tinted tail lights, at least in MN they do! And the VHT stuff doesn't come off easy. Just a fair warning, I learned the hard way.
