Leveling Question...
Before anyone crucifies me for asking this question, I apologize. Also, I've looked and searched for this particular answer and could not find it. I have a 2002 XLT Screw, 2 wheel drive and she's all stock. I want to level out the front end and get rid of the factory rake. I have seen some of the ones that users on here have used, like Daystar etc... I am not as savy as most here for all these topics, especially lifts etc... I wanted to know which leveling kits would work with my truck. I asked and showed the Daystar ones to a mechanic buddy, who would help me with the install and he said that that would not work. I guess my question is, the 1.5 inch from Daystar, how does it work? Just a coil spacer? Bolt on top? I don't want anything too crazy, I don't want to worry about changing any other suspension parts etc... Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The day star will work, it's just a rubber spacer that sits on top of the spring. If you go that way, Make sure you keep the stock spacer and put the new one on top of it. If you don't put the new one top of the old, it won't level out your truck.
Got it... sounds easy enough. That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I know this is the more cost effective way of achieving what I want... but what about Rough Country 1.5" coils? Is that a better, safer alternative? This truck is my daily driver and my family and I are in it everyday, just want the safest option. Thanks for your help.

longer coils or spacers will affect ride quality. Best riding option is to get a spindle lift, which keeps stock springs and shocks, just moves the spindle down 3", raising the truck 3". You also need set of blocks on the rear to get it level using a spindle lift.
Another option is to get a rear shackle drop that will drop the rear about 1". If you don't plan on going to a larger tire, this is a good option also. Does not affect ride quality, but many on here hate it saying you should never lower a truck.

go with the rough country 3.5" spindle lift and you will save your kidneys. The "puck" style spacers make these truck ride like an old mule. I've had both and I would never put a coil spacer on a truck again. My dads currently running 265 on his truck with that kit and it sits exactly the same as my leveled fx4
