Question Leveling the front of an 03 4x2.

Hello everyone, how are you? You guys continue to be my guiding light for the modifications to my truck. Without you I'd be completely lost.

I am looking to level off the front of my 03 4x2 SuperCrew for two reasons. Firstly, when I am out with law enforcement during our Florida hurricanes, I end up pushing a lot of debris that I've seen leveled trucks go over with more ease. Secondly, with the brush guard weighing the front down, I can barely clear some curbs when I park. Below are some photos of my truck taken on a few different surfaces to try and show the realistic difference between the front and back.

I went to my local Speed and Truck World and they only had 1.5" rings from DayStar. I asked them if that would be enough and they said they didn't know. They did say something about replacing the control arms and getting new shocks. What do I need to do this right?

Please help me out guys. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Anthony

I think procomp has a 3" suspension lift.

do you have torsion bar suspension, or is it coil springs?

if it's torsion bar set up, use a tape measure and tighten the adjusting bolt on the center cross member. measure the ground to top of fender opening, and adjust the fronts to match.

I don't believe I have a torsion bar. I believe they're coil springs.

I have almost the same exact truck. They are indeed coil springs. I don't know if you need 3" but if you go that route you could do the 3" up front and maybe a 1" block in back to level it out, or whatever size you need to level it out from there.

The biggest problem right now is that I have nobody in a 50 mile radius who knows how to determine which measurements I need to go with to level the truck.

I was hoping someone here had the same model and did the same modification.

In order to find the difference between the front and the back just use a measuring tape. Top of the wheel well to the top of the tire on the front then on the back and take the difference. By the looks of your pictures, if you were to lift the front 2" I'm guessing it would look level.

I lift trucks all day long, and for one I would stay away from the pro-comp kit. for another, Daystar offers a leveling kit for your truck that consists of urethane spacers that sit above the front coils of your truck. they are usually 3 inchs thick and are kind of a pain in the *** to put in with out a lift. They allow your truck to clear 33's and cost about $130 bucks. just one draw back, theres a big chance you'll have to replace the upper control arms with after market ones due to the contact of the control arm with the coil bucket. If you wanna do it right the first time i would just spend the money and go with a 4 inch rancho kit and call it a day. that kit will lift and level.

The local truck place told me I needed to worry about back spacing but, they were too busy to explain what that was and why I'd need to worry after raising the front.

Thanks Schertz. Awesome first post.

i would not go with the 3" daystar i've been told that it puts too much stress on the front, and you would need to replace a few things like the control arms. i wanted to level my front out on my 00" 2wd. the local 4x4 shop here in louisville said they would put a 2" trailmaster kit on with an alignment for a little over $400. i would look into something like that.
