OK, provided I go with the Fabtech (http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/...TS97159-7.html). How will I know for sure how big of a block I am going to need to ensure that the truck will be level?

What else will I need in addition to the Fabtech kit?

Why change the wheel bearings and what price does that carry?

Thanks Schertz!

you don't absolutley have to change the wheel bearings, its just a good idea to check them and make sure they are not pitted. If they are still good just repack em and slam em back in! haha. You shouldnt need anything else for the front of the truck, the control arms will still have the same angles, travel and so forth. Fabtech offers upraged front shocks for the kit (FTS7110), probably a good idea, just for the fact that the factory ones aren't very heavy duty. You should be good with a 1.5" block in the rear (the kit calls for a 2" block, i'm compensating for the grille guard), and to install the block you'll need the U-bolt kit (FTS722) or just 1.5" longer U-bolts. You also have an option of upgraded shocks for the rear (FTS7236). Hope that helps!

How much do you think the labor would run on something like this?

depends on the shop rate, we would charge round 350 plus an alignment. no if you know someone compitent enough to do it in their garage, i'm sure you could get em to do it for 150 haha

i just replaced my coil springs in my 1997 f150 4.2l V6 4x2.. one spring was broken in 2 places, the other in 1.. dunno how long i drove like that for, but to stay on topic, my front end is now leveled by just doing the springs and shocks
