Default LED Odometer

I own a 99 F-150 with a 4.2L V6. The truck has 142K on it. Yesterday and this morning on the way to work I noticed the LED odometer went out. As I was driving into work it came back on. Anyone have an odometer that sometimes lights and sometimes goes out? I have not checked anything yet, no sure where to start since the problem is intermitent. Thanks

Default The ignition switch

I have a 99 and in order to take the plastic console off your need to remove the key switch. I have a Chilton on my truck but it is lacking on stuff like this. Don't you just love repair manuals that tell you to take it to Ford? Is there a tech trick to removing the covers to get at the dash circuit board? I saw one on the headlight switch but not the ignition. Don't need to crack my interior pieces. Thanks

Default Ignition removal

I tried to ask a question in another thread that was linked to my question about an intermittent LED Odometer but was denied access for some reason? I have a 99 F150, how do you remove the ignition switch in order to pull off the console covers to get at the dash circuit board to solder and repair the LED odometer? Thanks
