Yeah it’s a Ford in house Reman so either way it’s under warranty, parts + labor.

I haven’t had a fun week. What timing for the intake to leak, less than two weeks with the new engine

Well, at least it's under warranty, they have to fix it. Just hand it over and pick up your free rental.

Yeah the engine is under warranty, not the intake work.

I wish the intake went bad a month ago lol.

Well I have a close family friend who has a shop about 45 minutes away.

He put in the engine (ford's warranty covers any certified shop). I drove it for just over a week and noticed the coolant leak so I just took it back to the same guy and he pin pointed it to the intake. He's replacing it tomorrow.

Bummer, but hopefully everythings good.
After all that's the guy that messed up the installation of the manifold apparently, he should stand behind it if you paid him anything at all. Which is always the issue with using friends or cut rate services. With friends things often have to be done in their spare time and sometime that's that's prohibitive when you're without a vehicle.

He says the plastic of the old intake cracked. You think that had something to do with engine installation?

Yeah, who knows honestly.

Anyway, he charged me $100 (labor) to install the intake and $500 (labor) for the engine swap. I’m not upset about it. I hope we’re good to go for a while though lol

Great pricing...worth it for sure as long as he's good.
