I recently installed rear brake pads/rotors on my 2000 F-150 XLT 2WD 5.4
I used Bosch BC 711 pads,
Do the double prongs on pads install facing upward or downward?
I didn't pay close attention when taking them off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
John

Is one of the "tabs" like a "finger" pointed at the rotor? If so that is the wear indicator and it depends on where the brakes mount on the rotor.

Did you already disassemble the other side? I only do one at a time in case I need a reference for reassembly.

mine are pointed up, but I have seen others pointed down.

This is mine, when I changed them I installed them how I found them:

This is a pic I found online:

But now that I look at it, it looks like them pointing down may be the correct way?

The pads can only go on one way. The spring locks to the outside, and the other to the caliper piston.
