That sucks, I thought they were stronger than that. Well they probably are, but yea, better not chance it.

I've probably pushed the limit a few times, storing stuff in the rafters or retrieving. At about 200 lbs and some of that stuff is heavy..on occasion live dangerously and us a milk carton for a little extra height

That said, I have enough ladders around here. For some reason, I won't make the effort to get one off the wall. I'll learn the hard way some day I expect. I guess it's because I like using that thing, you can move around on it.

THanks for the help.
Bosch has replied states Double Prongs should be upright.
They seem to work either way as mine are currently double prongs downward.
Plan on redoing changing pads to double prongs upward.
Again thanks Blupupher.
This way my 1st disc pad/rotor attempt.

I have an old rim/tire that I stand on, but the surface is too uneven.

My Buddy takes the front tires off of trucks, then lets them down when he works under the hood.

[QUOTE=blupupher;4812072]The OP is referring to the direction the pads face. It is kind of hard to see in my pics above, but my truck has the part of the pad with 2 prongs pointing up, the other one has them pointing down. The pads are side specific, but can be installed on either side. In the pic below, you can see that this is an inner pad, but which side does it go on by just looking at it?
If this pad is installed on the passenger side, the 2 tab part points up, if installed on the drivers side, it points down.
The OP wants to know which way the 2 tab part is supposed to point (and now I do too).

I'm still confused. The pads can only go one way. Spring locks to the outside. The tabs align to the bracket. The inner has the 3 legged spring to go into the piston. Only one way. Here is a pic of 711 pads used on these trucks under 7700 gvw.

The 7700 use a 702 rear pad and it is a bit different, but you still can only install them one way also.

Yes, you have an inner pad and an outer pad, but you also have a passenger side and drivers side. Which is which in your picture? Depending on which side you put them on, the two tab part (which I circled in the pic) will either point up or point down.

In this pic, the pad on the left is installed on the drivers side (2 tab up):

In this pic, the pad on the right is is installed on the drivers side (2 tab down).

See the difference? OP wants to know which one is correct/

I posted the way it was suppose to go, but they have to match the outer also. Same position for the tab as the outer uses. Left pic is the left side, right upper pic is the right. Match the outers to the inners and your are golden.
