Default I know it's an old thread but...

On my 2003 Screw the front two red lenses have lights behind them but the rear doors are only reflectors.

Thread Necromancer, love it! It has been so long I had forgotten about my own question. lol!

Technically I should leave this forum. Traded my girl in for a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Will admit, I got a little "misty eyed" when I realized this was the last time I would ever ride her. Great truck - had her longer then any vehicle I have ever owned!

Still going to lurk this forum though.

Take care ladies, and gentlemen. Be well, be safe!

I know on my '97 XL they were reflectors, on my '98, they are indeed lights...depends on trim levels.

Wow... reviving da dead thread! 5 years going AND THIS THREAD WONT DIE! Now, to da question...

If you have the red lens, most likely you don't have courtesy/door lights. It was that way for me, but I done fixed dat!

Our 2003 f150 has red lens and didn't come with bulbs from factory, but I noticed the wiring and bulb holder was there when the door panel was off. I installed bulbs today and it works. However I didn't expect it to be linked to the dome lights, so whenever you turn on your dome lights the door lights light up too. And you may not like that.
