Default Instrument Cluster

im looking for a new instrument cluster for my white 03 supercrew fx4.

I would like to know where you guys got yours from and what they look like. pics? I looked on eBay an couldn't find any that fit this year model. I want to get either blue or red lights because that's what im gonna accent my truck with, but I havnt decided between red or blue yet. I am currently reading an article about the PATS and having to reprogram my new cluster and keys or something like that, I only read a few sentences there is a lot more to read up on. can I get any automotive shop to reprogram it, do they need a special tool or do I have to go to a ford dealership or what? could i possible do it myself? What exactly do I have to do when I remove it and how do I remove it? Where would I be able to get a cheap one?

this is one I found that is different for like $275ish

here are some I found on the Internet but they are alittle pricey for $200, I like the way they both look and I can't decide but I want more options too.

Blue

Red

Any input or advice is appreciated, thanks!

I would rather do that than have to program new clusters an keys. where did you get your gauge face from? how did you install it? is it just like a sticker or what? could you upload a picture? did you get new needles too or just the face?

Bought it from eBay for like 20 bucks. Take off dash and replace the black one. It is not a sticker it is actually the plastic. And I didnt get needles but part of me wishes I did lol

I work for a Ford dealer, and from past experience, I'd stay away from changing over to anything that has to do with interior electrical equipment, especially something as important as an instrument cluster. I can't say I know of any local shops around here than can do the programming (but I guess I wouldn't know if they could do it, because they wouldn't bother coming to ford ). From talking to guys outside of work I have never heard of anyone having the tool to reprogram it. PATS systems are a real pain if there is any bit of confusion between the IDS and the vehicle, it can lead to locking yourself "out" of the vehicles PCM for hours.

Just my 2 cents, but even when we order stock clusters and radios. It can still cause problems, and thats with factory replacement parts.

I just talked to one of the workers at my uncles mechanical shop and he said he changed out his wife's 03 expedition (I believe that's what he said) and he didn't have to reprogram anything but that was just changing the factory for a factory one not putting in an aftermarket one. He also said hes pretty sure they carry the tool to program it. glad I have an uncle who is a mechanic! would I have to program the new one an reprogram the other stuff or could it possible just plug an play? this is why I am asking all this stuff now before I order it an i will talk to my uncle more about it when I have time.

Also like he said my speedometer is now about 7 MPH off but I have a tuner so I'm not worried as I don't drive fast anyways and the tuner displays my current speed as well
