The reason this all started was from a CEL for Insufficient airflow (EGR)

So in reading the posts on here, i took apart the intake and cleaned out all the carbon build-up (that didn't fix it), cleaned out the MAF sensor (that didn't fix it), took off the EGR valve and cleaned it out (that didn't fix it), replaced the AIC valve and TPS during this time to help with rough idle in the cold (which now i'm figuring its my vac hoses that are worn out)...

so i decided to buy a replacement DPFE sensor to see if that was the issue... and that's when this whole mess of a 4.6 part vs. a 5.4 part began..

I still have the issue, so i'm at a loss as to what to do next...only other thing I can think of is to remove the pipe from the EGR valve and the exhaust.. and give it a good cleaning on the chance that it's clogged.

ok well if i'm not mistaken the dpfe is the same for both engines i could be wrong but hey wouldn't be the first time. as far as airflow is concerned make sure to get those vac hoses changed out asap cuz that could of been your problem this entire time and all the other things you changed out could of been good this entire time

and i just got corrected the vac hose vs egr still take off the tube for the egr and clean it out but still get your vac hoses changed out to take care of the rough idle during the cold i was bouncing your thread off a fellow gearhead out here in afghanistan and he said that is what he would do to clear things up
