How to verify engine type

I checked that this morning... it's black... My question is then, why on earth is my 5.4 mounted up with a 4.6 DPFE sensor? I mean, the wiring, etc. is all factory original so I am not thinking someone changed it over after the fact... i don't know, just thinking if that's a 5.4 with a 4.6 DPFE sensor, that'd jack with the computer all day long and throw CEL's accordingly.

you have that backwards you a 5.4 dpfe sinces it black the gray one is a 4.6 dpfe

Yeah I helped them search the part on their pc network in the store. When I took back the 5.4 dpfe part and got the 4.6 version, it fit.

Pop the hood or crawl in your driver front wheel well and look and the engine block right above your headers/manifolds theres a sticker there that says 4.6l or 5.4l, windser or romeo, some numbers, bar code, and where and when your truck was assembled. Heres a pic of mine

Sweet that's what I was hoping I'd find out about

I'll check that today and report back what I find... as I'm sure curiousity is running a tad high.

I looked at mine today and I didn't see a 4and 6 together or a 5 and a 4 together it was just the serial number

Well, i found the sticker.. and it shows up as a 5.4L Windsor...

Also I took a shot of the DPFE sensor so ya'll could see what I'm talking about...
