Default Hids

I have a 2000 f150 and i have the hid kit in my low beams. I was wanting to get the kit for my lo beam and fog lights. I was reading about people having problems when they put there high beams and there fog lights cut off. The only kits i see are for high beam/low beam. Can someone shed some info on this appreciate it.

You can put a low beam kit in your fog lights. in order to have the high beams and fogs on at the same time you will have to bypass the fogs into the highs or wire them into a switch

I have hi/low bulbs in my headlights and just low in my fog lights. You can put a low beam kit in your fog lights, then for your heads you can keep the low beams in, or get hi/low

As for the difference I think that they are prety much the same, exept that bixenon has two filaments, and ones like mine the bulb moves out to get the high

I hope that I am understanding you

I'm just trying to eliminate the amount of ballast i have. Now what you mean two filaments is one better than the other

bixenon hid's are both low/high beams in one where as my xenon is just low beam(hid) and no high...hope that helps...but i think the high beam is just a reg. light and low is the hid

Your truck uses a 9007 bulb. The halogen bulb has 2 filaments. Hi and Lo. The reflector in the head light assembly is designed so that when the hi beam filament is on it directs the light further down the road. The HID kit has two options. But both options use the same bulb. The standar HID kid has only a Lo beam setting. The Bi-xenon system uses a solenoid to move the bulb to simulate a hi beam setting. Both systems use only one ballast per bulb.
