They may not be DOT approved, however you are way less likely to be stopped for running retrofits than you are running your junky plug and play kit. With a retrofit you are essentially assembling an OEM style set of projectors for something that never had them. They out perform PNP kits by miles, I have experience working with both style setups, and I would never recommend running plug and play bulbs. If you would do some research, you would see these are fact based statements, not just opinion. There is proof that a quality projector setup is superior to a plug and play setup, in the links posted above.

I'm the most laid back guy most will ever meet. You are 100% correct. PNP will not out perform Projectors. But DOT appoved HID conversion in DOT approved headlight is 100% DOT approved. I'm not attempting to be a PITA. Me making the point that a generalization is not a rule but a guide. Maybe some of the younger folks will actually find out for themselves instead of just reading it on the internet.

The gloves came off because someone read key words and not everything written. Then based off of key words without total comprehension, went for it.
