Default Here we go!!!!

On Thursday I and a mechanic friend will replace my heater core on my 1997 F150. He has done numerous core replacements. New Motorcraft 1L7Z 18476AA core, new blend door and actuator. My question is my new core has .625" tubes (5/8") and I think my original is larger. At least it looks like it. Looks like I may have to buy new quick connects and maybe reducers to fit this in. The reason I bought Motorcraft was to avoid replacing hoses and fittings as all aftermarket cores had 5/8" tubes. Anyone else run into this?

Does anyone know if the original core has 5/8" tubes? I really do not want to spend any more $$$$$ on this project than I have to.
And on second thought I delegated the whole heater core job to my friend!!!!!

97..... I'm guessing it looks different to him because of the fittings?

I look at the quick connects on my existing core lines and they look larger than the 5/8" quick connects fittings at say.......NAPA or O'Reilly.
I may just be my old eyes looking in at the firewall!!!
Regardless it will repaired, I need heat this winter!

So what is the verdict? Were the fittings the same, or different sizes? Just curious.

White They were 5/8" Thanks. Must be my eyes!!!
Only plastic part that broke was a cover over one of the screws on the dash under the windshield.
And I did replace the actuator and blend door.
