Default Help! Slight Surface Rust On Chrome

Since I lost my garage space, this winter has added little surface rust on my Chrome bumper. Any ideas to get rid of it and keep it away? Preferably not super complicated or expensive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well to make it disappear I would say but some never dull takes rust right off. Far as keeping off can't help there srry. Maybe spray some clear coat. Just and idea. But never dull works on taking it off. It can be bought at any parts store or Walmart Kmart. It works for me.

Awesome. Thank you very much. I also want to plasti dip my exterior lariat trim to match the black of the rest of my truck. Since my trim has a few scuffs. Not sure if its simple enough for me to do and I don't want over spray all over the body or my wheels and such. Another thought was plasti dipping my grill. But I don't see how to take it off. Would of be safe to tape what I can and spray it while its on?

Myself I've plastidipped my hood center bumpers grill and wheels. It's really easy to use. Far as over spray it just rubs right off. For example if u tape off and spray plastidip and let it dry wen ya pull tape it will stick to it and pull off the Plasti and us peel tape. I used a razor blade when pulled off my wheels. But if you pull tape off right after u Plasti dip it leaves a clean line. If wanna see it just search (well started to mod a bit) tht is my tread and lots of pics and some how to. I would say just test on part of trim while its tapes off to get hang of it. Of ya don't like how it looks peel it off and do it again.

Your truck looks fantastic btw. I noticed that plasti dip job. Really mean looking. Thanks for the info. I'll search it a bit and see what I can do. I plan to start with my grill, then go to trim and then the painted trim on the body. How can I avoid drips on the grill? Or is that not a big issue? I appreciate the advice man.

Your rockers turned out great. I was wanting to do mine like that too to get rid of the tan. I'll pick up some frog tape and see how it goes. Sand paper makes me nervous though.

To avoid drips I would say light coats. Myself I took the whole front end apart and did it flat on te tailgate lol. Anything I can help with. I don't know all but I know nuff to help with some stuff lol. To take grille off first gotta take the (can't think of proper name for it) plastic piece off under good that cover grille. There are plastic screw PITA. Then under that there are regular screws to take out. Then have to take out marker lights in front. One bolt hold each one in and they pull out takes a bit of force. The there are a couple more screws holding grille beind corner marker lights. After all tht pull out the grille. Now if ya wanna take the center outta grille there are plastic clips holding that in. They are a PITA but with time and a screw driver and some effort ya can get the center out. I am telling u all this from memory. Hope I got it all. Just takes time and some patience and a bit of cussin at it but will come out lol.

O that sand paper is just to ruff it up some so it will stick nice. I just sanded till saw the color on sand paper. Not bad. I was a bit concerned too but went for it anyway and took my time. If ya don't wanna do the bed liner people have used plastic dip for that also. Thanks again.

Alright. Sounds like good info. I already have an billit grill, will that have the same clips? And if so I would still need to take the plastic piece from under the hood off right? Which isn't too bad. My whole front grill assembly doesn't even seem to "fit" my truck in the first place. I have a good gap between my the end if my hood and the outside of the grill. The sides line up perfectly on the hood so I'm pretty positive its a grill issue. The front bumper is also different. Idk if the guy before me replaced the front end with parts from an escape or what. It's odd.
