Default Headlights

What are the best non-fake HID headlight bulbs you guys/gals have found? Meaning bulbs that aren't a conversion kit or retrofit kit, just straight halogen or xenon that has better than stock brightness but still retains a good pattern.

I was looking at those myself, but I haven't heard anything about them other than the retailer's description of the lights until now.

I run Silverstars.
I have had mixed results with bulb life though.

My daughters Honda uses H1 bulbs. The H1 silverstars only last about 6 months tops. I stopped using them in her car.

The 9005 and 9007 I have had better results with.
12 to 18 months.

I have the ss myself. Great lights. For a decent price. Lasting so far.. High beams are insanely good.

i can give another vote for silverstars. big improvement over stock, especially with the high beams. they don't really give the look of HID's, but i'd say they perform just as good if not better. i've heard people say they don't last long, others say they do. guess it depends how much time you drive with them on. i've only had mine a couple months, but as far as light output i'd definitely recommend them.
