Default Headlight Restoration

Being new here, I searched as well as I could (still learning how to navigate this forum) and was looking for ways to restore my headlights. They're factory and I'm wary of all these polishes, etc I see for sale at various places. I do believe these to be the original headlights that came with the truck in 2000.

Or, would it be worth just buying new OEM headlights?

2000 XL Reg Cab for reference.

Thanks!

I paid $38 for my headlights complete with bulbs but if you want to waste your time sanding and polishing and trying to spray some UV resistant layer on top of it, only to repeat everything 6 months later, knock yourself out

now on a car like my son's, where the headlights are $200 plus it's a little different...

Like MBB said, for these trucks the headlights are dirt cheap. I'd just buy new over wasting the time and supplies alone. If your vehicle had expensive headlights though, like a 2006 Ford Escape where they are 200 a pair, then I would do it.

Do you have a link for $38? Or was it in store? My search yielded results all over the place.

Thanks in advance!

Ha. my daughter was home during coronavirus and bored and decided to polish my sons and my wife's cars headlights and they came out pretty decent. Definitely better than they was.
