Flowmasters just don't sound the way they used to. Magnaflow is also too quiet! I put shorties and a 3" full HVS single system on by buddies truck. He gets stopped all the time to find out what's been done to his truck. Exhaust that's it! Did it because needed manifolds(cracked), y-pipe was rotted, duals falling off.

I used a Stage 8 set of Locking Fastners to replace the stock set up, and checked the torque after running them up to temp a few times. Never had an issue. Did the Gotts O2 mod with the rear O2 sensors, and that works good. You will need extensions for the front O2 sensors, or you can solder the added length in, if your handy like me. Used my shop vac set to "blow", and attached to the tailpipe. With a soapy solution, you can find those annoying leaks.
So do I need new studs either way??

Don't disgrace a modular motor and LTs with a chambered muffler. Straight through FTW. If you live anywhere close to salt, it's likely you'll need new studs. Stage 8's are great, PITA to get to for the hex, but once they're in they won't back out. Getting a custom tune for the headers too I hope?

Ya I'll just put my O2s in and no cats! Cats are just for back pressure mainly. And I have resonators and a muffler. I don't think it will throw codes

If you dont have cats yet youre o2 wont be reading correct peramiters unless obx somehow made the resonators to fool it...
