I wish I could make 90 bucks an hour lol. Then again the crap they go through is horrible, and the insurance and tools and crap they have to buy they can't be making millions at that shop rate. Some are making a bit more cash because they have their shop at their house so they are only buying one property.

I paid 1575 for yukons 4.88 front and rear with master install kits and Detroit locker. At a local shop that was also a part distributor.

You also have to remember the tech doesnt make near that. I dont wrench on cars but wrench on equipment and we charge $225/hr. But we are straight time. An it starts from the time I take the call.

If you own you're own garage and have the tools though you're making bank. There's a guy near me who worked 20 years as a mechanic. He built a 3 car garage next to his house, put 2 lifts in it and other various equipment,and got a professional business license with one other guy. He charges 60% the rate of any shop in the area and is making $200k a year.
