Default gears

Hey guys I had a few old f150s 1987-96 but I bought a 1997 and I still have some old goodies like a lock-rite 8.8 and rear 4:10 gears 8.8 I think this stuff should fit my truck but if not please tell me different. by the way it is a 4x4 and I know my old front gears dana 44 rev. will not fit but I think this 97 has a 8.8 in the front which I will have to get gears for. what I was wondering do I have to go with a different carrier in the front of my truck for 4:10 gears I know on my older trucks 1987-96 when I ran 4:10 I had to change the front carrier to. thanks new member calvin

It's possible that the front is a reverse cut gear. So regular rear gears will not work. The older stuff should work.

OK, I'm wrong. I know the Rangers still run a Dana 33. I figured Ford stayed with the 44 in the full sized.
