What was the code number for the EGR? I will bet within 50 to 70 miles the code for the EGR will come back because on a Ford the EGR itself is not usually the problem. The ABS is a sensor, but without reading the code you don't know which sensor it is. Disconnecting the battery does clear the computer, but without the code numbers we can't help you.

Don't know if 'reboot' is the correct term. Removing power clears all learned adjustments and stored fault codes.

Not sure why the ABS fault popped up without any work or unusual operating event taking place. Seems awful coincidental that it popped up after you had cleared the codes. Don't know about your OBD-II vintage, but on the earlier OBD-I versions, the ABS fault code system is a whole different beast not covered in the standard computer scan.

you need to get the ABS processor scanned to tell you if and/or which sensor is at fault or merely a cracked tone ring. But, without a code, your post is just taking up bandwidth.
