Question Gear ratio question

Hi everyone. I have a 98 F150 XLT, 4x4, 4.6L engine w/auto transmission.
I'm trying to obtain gear ratio info for this model but haven't had much luck so far.
Can anyone recommend a site or a Ford number to call where I can get this spec?
Thanks for any help.

Cheers!

There should be a tag on the diff that gives the gear ratio. It will be like 3.l55 8.8 or 3 55 8.8. If there is no tag then you can make a mark on the tire and on the drive shaft. Count how many times the driveshaft turns with one turn of the tire. for example if the drive shaft turns 3 3/4 times then you likely have a 3.73 gear ratio. If it turns 3 1/2 times for one turn of the tire then you likely have a 3.55. if it turns just over 4 times then its prolly a 4.10.

It is the VIN sticker that should be in the door jam... You will have to get the number de-coded as your 06 might not fall into the 97-03 codes...

Good luck!
