Default fx4 vs 4x4

Does anyone think the fx4 can do better towing and suspension that the stock truck or 4x4. I'm talking about comparing each model(supercrew cab, super cab) regular cab). I don't know too much, but I think the 4x4 version is just the regular truck but equipped with the 4x4 setting. I know the fx4 has something different with the suspension though.

Skid plates, sometimes different ratio'd gears, Limited slip vs open differentials seem to be the basic differences besides the bed decals. Otherwise, there is very little difference between the basic 4x4 models. SOF is an option, so it can be had with either 4x4 setup.

Yup 3:55 or 3:73 limited slip rear end special wheels rancho shocks skid plates and no chrome besides the front and rear bumper and the running boards ( if they have the tubular ones ) I believe the supercabs and regular cabs had LT Rated tires also ( my dads supercab FX4 does anyway and all the supercrews had p rated tires that I've seen ) and they all were shift on the fly 4x4 one was just electronic other was a shifter on the floor

It depends on the engine horsepower, torque, tow package included with the truck and the rearend ratio, the 3.55 and 3.73 have higher towing capacity!

Skid plates and white shocks with a red boot. That's it.
Oh and a different sticker on the side, and price tag

My lariat screw 5.4 4x4 has 3.73 gears with the towing package, and came with P265 70-17 tires on the sticker. I think it came with LT 265 70 17 AT tires though probably replaced by the dealer. Why they sell 4x4s with all season street tires sometimes is beyond me.

4x4 and SuperCrew actually detract from your tow capacity because of the additional weight. The highest tow capacity will be in a two-wheel drive model. But that doesn't do anything for you trying to pull a boat up a slippery boat ramp when your rear tires are on the slime

It's still that very same way today with the newer trucks.

Btw, you not suppose to say plastic anymore, they refer to it as composite now.

That was it doesn't sound so cheap.
