Question Fuse Box missing parts...

Good Evening. I just went out to troubleshoot the inoperable power windows on my "new" 2001 XLT, when I noticed that one of the small tabs that the 20a fuse would plug into is missing. I suppose it was broken by a previous owner. The lock switches and wiring inside the cabin seems to be fine. Is this common on these trucks, and furthermore, what is the best way to fix this whereas I can utilize the power door locks again? I provided a photo above for reference; notice the empty spot near the Bussman 40a only has one tab instead of two. Thanks in advance for reading and commenting.

Not sure what you mean..tabs? Is the slot bad ?

Why not throw a 20amp fuse in there and be done with it?

EDIT: You edited while I was posting...didn't see the pic yet.

I certainly would have done that, but the designated spot for the power lock fuse appears to be damaged. One of the two metal terminals that is supposed to plug into the back of the fuse is missing in the designated fuse slot.

Take the fuse block loose, flip it over and inspect. Check to see if the wire and connector has been pushed out of the block.

Thank you for your response, JBREW. Your response helped me in finding the issue. The fuse position is fine; however, each time I replaced it, it blew. There must be a short somewhere or something, I guess.

Great! I'd still flip it and check for corrosion under the block. Had quite a few go bad under there. Can't see it unless you turn it over,

I will check that as well. I have ordered actuators, and new switches as well. One way or another, I gotta get this fixed.

I appreciate your time and guidance, Sir. Nice to know there's someone around whose been there, done that!
