Not sure what size yours is.. it's one of those two though. If it were my filter I would just rip it out and replace the metal fingers..that's how I solved my problem. bought mine at Advanced Auto Parts.

it should spray fuel. You need go release the pressure when you do this..... The lines will depressurize naturally over night, or you can press the schrader valve on the fuel rail. do not turn the key once you've done this or you'll prime the system again. Like everyone said get the right tool there is absolutely no reason to need a new line at the filter unless you royally f'ed it up with a 2ft pry bar.... Which I'm going to assume you have...

Cannot get the front side end off so can inspect it. I just assume its messed up inside because it leaks now when its fully seated. Maybe ripped oring inside? Just cant get it off! I wanted new line because i then could cut the old line off i was thinking too.

Yea it's the front that gets messed up, I got rid of that hassle long ago since I swap the filter out every 9,000 miles. The back (towards the tank), never had a problem with that one. The only line removal tool that works for me is a little anodized aluminum oil line removal tool. It worked for the front as well for awhile. The spring wears out (deforms) then it's impossible. In-turn, -resulting in a destructively bad attitude, -

So yea, just by-pass that headache.

No problem. Yea , just wasn't worth the hassle and it was an easy fix that will last an last. I did it 12 years ago lol.

BTW- I used regular fuel line heavily reinforced. I'll change out the fuel line maybe every year or every other because the line is a synthetic rubber. Meaning it will deteriorate slowly. Little pieces of it could stop up the injectors if it's not changed out periodically. Two years is nothing for fuel rated line. That's why I change it out though. It's also do to the fact the repair is on the upstream side of the filter.
There are better options of course, this is one where maintaining isn't a big deal, to me anyway. OEM line is a better choice. It uses a hardened shell for fuel transmission/transfer.
