Default fuel filter

Changed my fuel filter last night and dang! I'm in no hurry to do that again... no clue when it was last changed so that might be why it was so hard but once it did come off the gas in it was nearly black...

you may want to service more than your filter...

just saying that because i just replaced mine and i know it had at minimum 150k miles on it... fuel was still clear as water...

Raider, how many miles were on that fuel filter when you changed it? I am changing mine tomorrow with my oil change because I know it is the original one with 70k miles on it. I just hope it doesnt look like that. But like ^ said, I dont know if that dirty is normal, kind of concerns me that maybe there are other issues with it being that dirty.

The proper tool does help, but we still had trouble with one side. Changed mine on Saturday. Not sure when it was changed last because I bought the truck used in September, but the truck has 148,000 and the fuel looked normal at the time.

My truck has a 180,000+ plus, I don't know the last time it was changed, but it was the motorcraft filter and it didn't look that bad either. Looks like you might have some sludge in your tank.

I too changed mine on Saturday. I take it off of the rail before disconnecting. The remove the rear line and use the end plug on the new filter to plug it. Tuck the fule line up and then remove the front. Install both new lines and then slide back into the mount.

I do this every 30k on both rigs with Wix filters
