Frustrated
Hello, have 01 f150 supercab XLT ,died while idling, turn key, cluster lights up,bells ring, one click but wont turn over, nothing, put new battery in,same, checked starter relay with test light, working, tested s wire on relay that runs to ignition switch,no light up,so I put new ignition switch in and now I have zilch, nada, nothing,!!!!! Any clues,,,by the way I could not jump starter relay before new ignition switch installed,it would just spark a bit but not engage, thanks for any input
Uh if you can't jump the starter solenoid with a screwdriver that usually means you have a bad starter solenoid and it needs to be replaced...
As for having nothing have you installed the new ignition... sounds like something got messed up with the install. Wires no problems seated in the connections, wires no properly soldered (if you had to solder), wires pinched in the steering column, forgot to connect wires, blew a fuse, etc

Did you put the new switch in and start the truck before you put everything back together? I learned this the hard way. Did you test the wiring with a VOM as was suggested? I'd start at the hot in start pins\wires. Jumping the solenoid had already been recommended to try. Did you?

I had a problem with my ignition after I put in a new ignition cylinder that I bought at a local parts store. It worked in starting the truck but the key in ignition warning didn't always work along with other problems in removing the key. After living with it for about a year I bought a new motorcraft ignition switch/cylinder and replaced the no brand one I bought previously. Since then everything is working perfectly.
