I did this with my lights also. But i pulled to switch out and grinded the ramp down, then ran a jumper wire, after blowing a few fuses i learned how to effectively do this process. In the end I can now run my parking lights and fogs at the same time, and then run low and fogs and high and fogs. So pretty much my fogs will be on as long as the switch is turned and popped out. The look of the 97 after this is finished is very mean, i get comments on mine all the time and either way you run the set up I highly recommend doing this because of the way it really looks.

I rewired my Fogs to a new switch. They only turn on when I flip the switch regardless of the light switch position.
