Default Flatbed Project

So a little background. Long story short, I had never bought a northern truck before and didn't realize how much underbody rust this thing would have (I know, should have checked better). But it is my beater, so it is ok. I began having issues with the bed about a year ago and it finally got to the point where it was resting on the rear bumper and the tailgate wouldn't close without squeezing the sides of the bed and using my chest to close it . So I decided to go with a flatbed. It is still not finished, needs to be coated, have the headache rack and spare tire holders fabbed, but all in all, I am happy with how it turned out. Here ya go.

Rear cross brace completely rusted away.

Had to get the rust off and recoat the frame. Also decided to replace the rear shocks while I was at it.

New rear shocks and undercoated frame.

Old rusty gas tank and new one. Seemed like the time to do it.

If you look close you can see the channel iron I used for the cross braces.

As it sits now.

I will be making the new rear bumper this weekend, and installing the new lights. Oh, and I plan to pick up an old toolbox and put the fuel filler inside it.
