Then I went back to the part and there it was, under Important Info "for 7700 lb GVW, caliper packed w/steel pistons, bracket included". That wasn't there before. Did you put a coat of paint on yours or is that the way they came? Man I hate to give up my old stuff. Those Brembo's are still good and were pricey, they just need a clean up.. My old 1/2 T calipers work great. Steel pistons in those as well, but they want them I guess.
Nope they came painted. And the paint has help up very well. Better than I expected. But then again, no salty roads around here.

You could always eat the 66 dollar core deposit and keep the old calipers, but if they aren't brembo I don't really see the value in that.

Yep, they bolt up in the same exact spots.

Yea, that's exactly what I'm doing. I 'd rather give them to someone who could use them. Having Napa clean them up for me.

BTW- I found a Napa here right in town. Ford and Napa merged here. I never saw the store because it's at the dealership. Maybe it's going to be a new trend.

What I like about Napa is the fact you can usually buy different levels of quality with their parts. I also like that they will actually tell you who makes their house brands. Ask that at O'Reilly's or Autozone and you'll get:

My Buddy has a corporate account at O'Reilly, and he ordered all of the stuff to do an oil change on all of his vehicles. Well... they brought the wrong Wix filter for his Tree Fiddy. So I took him over to the store, and talk about dummy's. This guy came in and wanted to rent a slide hammer. The O'Reilly employee seriously asked him what a slide hammer was. Then apparently you have to rent the 3 jaw puller separately - and the dude also had no idea what a 3 jaw puller was. Damn near told the guy I'd let him borrow mine, LOL. Then getting the oil filter exchanged.... after 15 minutes, my Buddy says "look, I've got things to do today - I'm taking the right filter, and you can figure this out on your own".

I've been told in the past that core charges are higher in the rust belt - although I have never researched the validity of that statement. I can only assume that this is because the chances of it being a usable core are reduced by the corrosion issues.
